Traveled south along Highway 101 through the rugged Olympic coastline, stopping through Forks at Forks Outfitters before wandering the driftwood-strewn shores of Ruby Beach and stopping for a warm bite at Creekside Cafe.

Passed the glacier-carved beauty of Lake Quinault before crossing the Columbia River over the iconic 4-mile-long Astoria-Megler Bridge into historic Astoria, Oregon. Checked in along the working waterfront at the Riverwalk Inn with sea lions barking in the bay and enjoyed fresh Pacific seafood in town.
